We sponsored an audiobook marking 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz — a painful and necessary commemoration, keeping alive the memory of those who perished.
“Mărturisesc...” (I Testify) gathers the testimonies of survivors of World War II and the Holocaust: Jews, as well as Roma, Ukrainians, Poles and people of other ethnicities who went through the concentration camps. It includes the testimony of Miriam Bercovici, who at 101 remembers her deportation to Transnistria.
The audiobook is narrated by Naomi Guttman and her mother, actress Roxana Guttman, based on thorough documentation.
It is a journal of the inferno they went through and survived — a reminder that history, through written and spoken testimony, must never repeat itself. A cry for peace, tolerance and love.
