Satul Părinților
Education, culture and nature — concrete projects for communities in Romania.
Satul Părinților ("The Parents' Village") is a Romanian non-governmental organisation supporting education in all its forms. We believe a community grows through books, through memory kept alive, through prepared parents and educators — and through protected nature.
We do not start from grand statements, but from concrete projects: a town library restocked with new books, an audiobook preserving the testimonies of Holocaust survivors, workshops on children's socio-emotional development, and volunteering for Romania's old-growth forests.
Our projects
New books for the Măcin town library
New titles on recent history, civic education and personal development for one of the last functional town libraries in Tulcea county.
“Mărturisesc...” (I Testify) audiobook
Testimonies of Holocaust survivors, 80 years after the liberation of Auschwitz — narrated by Naomi and Roxana Guttman, available on Voxa.
“Cycle of Development” workshop
Experiential workshop on socio-emotional development in early education, based on Pamela Levin's theory — for educators and parents.
Volunteering for old-growth forests
Our members volunteer in actions to protect and preserve Romania's old-growth forests.
